A March article was all about <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklynwellness.nz\/2024\/03\/01\/improved-oral-hygiene\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">good dental health<\/a>. The February article (also on this blog) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frot.co.nz\/design\/deb-gully\/2024\/02\/06\/back-to-school-or-work-health-tips\/\">Back to School or Work Health Tips<\/a> covered:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Good nutrition &#8211; eg fresh foods rather than processed<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Staying hydrated<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Movement<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Sleep<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Time out to de-stress, have fun &amp; enjoy time with friends and family<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><\/figure>\r\n<p>As winter approaches, adding in some other good habits can help build immunity, reducing the chance of a respiratory illness, or at least the severity. <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1234 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.frot.co.nz\/design\/deb-gully\/files\/2024\/11\/self-care-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.frot.co.nz\/design\/deb-gully\/files\/2024\/11\/self-care-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.frot.co.nz\/design\/deb-gully\/files\/2024\/11\/self-care-272x182.jpg 272w, http:\/\/www.frot.co.nz\/design\/deb-gully\/files\/2024\/11\/self-care.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ramp up intake of protective nutrients<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Vitamin C &#8211; citrus fruit, blackcurrants, powdered acerola, camu camu or acai, or Ester C supplements<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Vitamins D &amp; A &#8211; butter, shellfish, liver, cod liver oil<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Minerals &#8211; unprocessed salt, bone broths, full spectrum liquid mineral supplements. Zinc is especially needed at this time of year.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Probiotics, especially if you have poor digestion &#8211; yoghurt, kefir, sauerkraut, supplements. Keep your shoulders down. It&#8217;s impossible to avoid all the toxins in the world around us, so it&#8217;s good to have a periodic clean out. There are many ways to detox, though some need guidance. Consider if any of these are suitable for you, and seek expert help if appropriate.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Regular or infra red sauna<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Vegetable juicing (organic, or you&#8217;ll be adding toxins)<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Essential oil liver support regime<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Herbal cleanses<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Ionising foot spas<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Fasting<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Light and colour therapy<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A couple of recent Brooklyn Wellness Hub articles covered some ways to maintain health year round.
