Bacon
My favourite way to cook bacon…
Take a baking tray that has a grill section on the top and a pan to catch the fat underneath. Lay out your strips of nitrate free bacon. Pop into the oven at 150C (300F) and go and have your shower. By the time you’re dressed, your bacon will be ready.
Serve with one or more of:
- Your favourite kind of eggs
- Tomatoes and/or mushrooms and/or leftover vegetables panfried in bacon fat, butter, coconut oil or olive oil
- Liver and onions
- Buttered toast, or French toast fried in the bacon fat
Or for a special breakfast:
- A pancake with butter and a drizzle of maple syrup. If you’re a Protein type, go heavy on the bacon and light on the pancakes (or make your pancakes with almond or coconut flour). If you’re a Carbo type, you may be able to have a little sliced banana as well. Try banana fried in bacon fat.
If you don’t use the bacon fat cooking the rest of your breakfast, keep it for future use.
