The only shop is a dairy, so we&#8217;ll be on taking all our food with us. We can top up with a few things from Waihi or Whangamata, but most of the foods we eat regularly won&#8217;t be available. For many years, we had to carry gluten free food with us. Now that&#8217;s quite commonly available, we&#8217;ve moved on to starch free!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m still finalising\u00a0the\u00a0food packing list, but it will probably look something like this (in no\u00a0particular\u00a0order).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Raw milk (fresh and frozen)<\/li>\n<li>Caspian sea yoghurt (that we can use to make a fresh batch every day)<\/li>\n<li>Stock (frozen in small containers. If it was winter, they&#8217;d be pre-made vege soup, but in summer that feels too heavy)<\/li>\n<li>Filler free sausages (Stoneycreek Farm or Harmony)<\/li>\n<li>Meat (fresh &amp; frozen)<\/li>\n<li>Maybe a couple of tins of salmon or sardines, or maybe just\u00a0get some fresh fish there<\/li>\n<li>Sauerkraut<\/li>\n<li>Carrots, baby beetroot, tangelos and blueberries that will be coming in our order from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simplygoodfood.co.nz\/\">CSA<\/a> the day before. From Commonsense Organics, I&#8217;ll\u00a0get a couple of small pumpkins, and see what else will travel well, maybe some avocado. Other than that, we&#8217;ll probably take pot luck with what produce is available.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.naturefoods.co.nz\/nutritional-oils\/fish-liver-oils\">Green Pastures fermented cod liver oil<\/a> (we&#8217;re currently &#8220;enjoying&#8221; Salty) and a probiotic<\/li>\n<li>A jar of each of Reilly&#8217;s nut butters<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Crispy&#8221; cashews and macadamias<\/li>\n<li>Some dried fruit or maybe some homemade fruit cake<\/li>\n<li>Coconut almond muffins or bread<\/li>\n<li>Organic butter or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.naturefoods.co.nz\/nutritional-oils\/butter-oil\/green-pasture-coconut-ghee\">ghee<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Cheese<\/li>\n<li>Eggs &#8211; we&#8217;ll take whatever&#8217;s here, but buy extra free range eggs as needed<\/li>\n<li>A jar of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.naturefoods.co.nz\/nutritional-oils\/coconut-oils\">Zenian coconut oil<\/a> or maybe just some refrigerated &#8220;slice&#8221; made from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.naturefoods.co.nz\/nutritional-oils\/coconut-oils\">coconut oil<\/a> and nut butter or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.naturefoods.co.nz\/other-foods\/cacao-products\/cacao-butter-250\">cocoa butter<\/a><\/li>\n<li>EV Olive oil and some lemons<\/li>\n<li>Sea or Himalayan salt<\/li>\n<li>Bottles of kombucha<\/li>\n<li>Maybe\u00a0some\u00a0bottled water, but we&#8217;ll mostly buy that once we&#8217;re there<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Anything I&#8217;ve forgotten?<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re going to Whiritoa Beach on the Coromandel Peninsula for a few days.
