If you can\u2019t tolerate diary, use 1 cup warm water with 2 Tbs lemon juice)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">1 egg<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00bc tsp sea salt<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00bd tsp baking soda<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">1 Tbs melted butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">Mix together kefir\/yoghurt and flour. Leave to sit in a warm place for 12-24 hours. Beat egg with sea salt, tsp baking soda and melted butter. Add to flour mix. Add extra water if the mixture is too thick. Cook up a large spoonful at a time in a greased frypan. Makes 6 large or 10 small pancakes.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">*Flour alternatives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Whole wheat, Spelt or Kamut<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Buckwheat (this makes a firmer pancake)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00bd kamut, \u00bc buckwheat, \u00bc amaranth<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">1\/3 cup each of 3 different whole GF flours eg. buckwheat, amaranth, brown rice. Or to make a softer pancake, use \u00bc of each. Then after soaking, add \u00bc cup of arrowroot, tapioca, potato starch or corn flour. Note that this mixture does need to cook at a slightly lower temperature or it can burn easily<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">Some ideas for pancake fillings:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Chilli (either vegetarian or meat based)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Mixed peppers (see below under pizza toppings)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Tinned tuna or salmon, mixed with homemade mayo and some chopped red onion<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Honey-cinnamon yoghurt cheese or cr\u00e8me fraiche, with berries or sliced fruit<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Ricotta or kefir cheese, with lemon juice and sultanas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1 cup flour * 1 cup kefir or yoghurt ( If the yoghurt is very thick, mix together \u00bd cup each yoghurt and water.
