{"id":845,"date":"2006-12-08T15:31:51","date_gmt":"2006-12-08T02:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.frot.co.nz\/design\/recipes\/?p=845"},"modified":"2021-05-18T09:43:02","modified_gmt":"2021-05-17T21:43:02","slug":"cheesy-oat-loaf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.frot.co.nz\/design\/recipes\/cheesy-oat-loaf\/","title":{"rendered":"Cheesy Oat loaf"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">2 cups rolled oats<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">2 cups kefir, or yoghurt that has been slightly thinned<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00be cup sunflower seeds<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">2 eggs, beaten<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">2 Tbs tamari<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">1 cup tasty cheese, grated<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">1 onion, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">1 tsp dried herbs or 1 Tbs chopped fresh herbs of your choice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">8 hours before making, mix the oats and yoghurt together and leave covered in a warm place. Set the sunflower seeds to soak in some filtered water.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">Beat the eggs and tamari together, and mix with the oats. Drain the sunflower seeds and stir in. Mix in the other ingredients. Put into a greased ring or loaf tin. Bake at 300F or 150C for one hour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">Serve with a salad or cooked vegetables, and a sauce of your choice. The loaf itself has a very mild flavour, so a spicy tomato sauce is nice, but other spicy sauces would also work.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">Variation 1:<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">this is quite a dense loaf.
