WAPF
friendly events this year
Here
is a tentative calendar of 2010 Wellington WAPF events , and other events
in Greater Wellington or the lower North Island that we think would be
of interest to you.
Please
let us know about any events you
hear of that would be relevant.
Some
of the events we expect to be on:
Weston
A Price foundation chapter meetings -
This year we're having a food market for Easter, and will have a meeting
and presentation later in the year. These activities are for you, so
let us know what you want
from them.
Overfed
& undernourished - This
series, presented by Deb Gully, covers why eating a diet of real foods
is so important, how to prepare foods for maximum benefit, why current
food guidelines have failed us so badly, individualizing your diet for
special needs, food and other allergies, shopping guidelines, and beyond
food – the triangle of health (biochemical, structural, emotional)
Gut
& Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) info workshops - This
series covers why our gut health can affect all other areas of our health,
and details of the GAPS protocol for gut repair and healing from food
allergies. This series will run twice, as we believe a huge percentage
of the population is affected by it. This could be of interest to anyone
suffering from:
• Food, chemical or respiratory allergies / sensitivities
• Constipation, diarrhea, bloating, colitis, Crohns or other digestive
disorders
• Asthma, eczema, thrush, bed wetting
• ADHD, ADD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, aspergers or other learning,
social or behavioural issues
• Depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
• Chronic fatigue, arthritis, lupus or an autoimmune issue
Emotional
Freedom Technique (EFT) – This
presentation is designed to introduce you to the principles of how use
EFT. We will also cover some specific energy treatments for allergies.
This evening is designed to be #3 in the GAPS
series, but will also be of benefit to people who want to learn about
EFT, but who are not affected by GAPS.
Cooking
workshops - Some
will be hosted or arranged by us, but we will also let you know about
other events we hear of.
Farm
Day - An
opportunity to visit Farmer Cedric and meet your cow! Remember that Cedric
and Susan also have a cottage available for cowshare owners to rent for
a farm holiday.
Simply
Good Food - NZ's
first Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programme. Designed to supply
people in the Wellington & Wairarapa regions with a regular, year-round
supply of quality fruit, vegetables, herbs and other seasonal foods. Currently
there is no membership fee, just contact John to register for entrance
to the online shop. Your order is delivered somewhere near you on a Thursday
afternoon. Visit
their website for more details of how it all works. They also have
a stall at the Wellington market in Victoria St on Sunday mornings. At
this stage no farm days are scheduled, but that may change later in the
year.

Gut
& Psychology Syndrome (GAPS)
This
series is aimed at people with a chronic illness or dysfunction,
such as:
* Food, chemical or respiratory allergies / sensitivities
* Constipation, diarrhea, bloating, colitis, Crohns or other digestive
disorders
* Asthma, eczema, thrush, bed wetting
* ADHD, ADD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, aspergers or other learning,
social or behavioural issues
* Depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
* Chronic fatigue, arthritis, ankylosing spondilitis, lupus or an
autoimmune issue
Mental,
psychological and physical health can be directly related to the
state of your digestive system, so can be affected by Gut &
Psychology Syndrome (GAPS). Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride has worked
with thousands of GAPS children and adults, since her son was diagnosed
with autism. She has devised a diet and gut repair protocol that
allows the body to begin to heal the actual cause of these and many
other conditions.
Getting
started on GAPS
In
this workshop, we will:
* Introduce you to the first 2 healing foods that need to be added
to the diet, and how to make them
* Give you an overview of the other GAPS friendly and unfriendly
foods
* Discuss ways to ease onto the diet
* Have a question and answer session about what is involved
* Troubleshooting
* Share some samples of GAPS foods
Before
attending the GAPS "How To" workshops, you will need to
have either read the book or watched the videos. So you will be
familiar with the symptoms of GAPS, why it happens, and what causes
it.
Email
me to register, for more info, or to borrow the DVDs.

Intro
to EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)
In
our busy 21st century world, many people have been discovering the
benefits of EFT. It’s a gentle, non-invasive technique that
you can use yourself to help with all kinds of work, family and
personal stress.
EFT
has also been clinically effective in thousands of cases for Trauma
& Abuse, Panic & Anxiety, Fears & Phobias, Depression,
Addictive Cravings, Children's Issues and hundreds of physical symptoms
including pain relief, headaches, body pains and breathing difficulties.
Properly applied, over 80% achieve either noticeable improvement
or complete cessation of the problem. ...Often works where nothing
else will. ...Usually rapid, long lasting and gentle. ....No drugs
or equipment involved. ...Easily learned by anyone. ...Can be self
applied
EFT
is becoming popular all around the world, as more and more people
are finding out how it can empower them and improve their quality
of life.
Although
you can work a lot more in depth with a practitioner, you can ease
a lot of stress at home yourself, saving time and money. My aim
is that by the end of the workshop you will feel comfortable using
EFT on your own for everyday situations. We will cover:
* The history of EFT
* How it works & what it can be used for
* The basic “recipe” and the shortcut “recipe”
* Practice exercises including emotional issues, physical issues,
boosting immunity, cravings
* When to use EFT yourself and when to see a professional
* How to get more training
