REMEMBERING THE GOOD TIMES<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

Back in 2016 when I originally wrote a post on Steemit about millenials defacing themselves with crap tattoos, Steemit was a totally pumping new blockchain platform, and I felt like some sort of crypto blogging god. Even then I did have a sense that all was not as it seemed, but I had no idea how hard the illusion was about to crash<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The realisation that Steemit was always set up as ponzi scheme right from the outset, (and also an AI in social media development site) was at least a year away for me…<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

One of the best things about my blog posts back then, were all the comments and interactions. So here in all its glory, with the original comments included,\u00a0 is one of my posts from the good old days:<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

While staring at a half naked photo of Justine Blubber I started wondering what the real reason is that young people have all taken to defacing themselves with the most appallingly crap tatts in the history of humanity.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Back in the old days sailors and prisoners used to get tattoos and everyone else used to take one look at them and make a mental note to avoid giving them a job.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The number of people getting tattoos has gone up greatly in the past 20 years, especially among those people under the age of 30. The other side to all this is that the tattoo removal industry is now bigger than the tattoo industry. Around 40 million Americans are tattooed, and around 7 million of them are already seeking tattoo removal.<\/p>\n

As you might expect the number keeps going up as people accidentally catch sight of themselves in a mirror or a photo and start thinking things like \u201cWhy have I got a bunch of utterly meaningless words tattooed all over me\u201d.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

People really hate thinking for themselves, so to avoid this horrible experience they copy other people, and for some reason they think the things that they copy are just random fashions, but they never are. Fashions, just like smoking, feminism, low-fat diets, and pretending there are more than 2 sexes, are all designed to further social and money making agendas.<\/p>\n

Tattoos serve several purposes; first and foremost they program people to later accept the idea of micro-chip implants which is one of the new world order plans. They also give people the illusion that they are expressing themselves, when in fact they are just willingly falling in line to do their part in submitting to another globalist agenda. Rather than forcing people to submit, it works much better to have them happily paying to submit.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Like all social engineering there are secondary financial benefits, and making people sick is nearly always one of them, because sick people are a profitable industry. As with fluoride and chlorine in the water supply, aluminum and mercury in vaccines, and GMO’s and Canola oil in the food supply, tattoo ink includes hormone disrupters and carcinogenic ingredients, so they tick that box too.<\/p>\n

Tattoo removal technology is constantly improving \u2013 but at the moment it is slow, painful, and leaves scarring. As it develops it will become increasingly popular, and it is already a bigger industry than tattooing. The very same people who are promoting morons like Justin Blubber also have investments in the tattoo industry and will now be fully moving into the tattoo removal industry as well. Trying to pick the next big thing in cryptos is tricky but investing in the tattoo removal industry is a no-brainer.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

That is the best reason I can come up with why the quality of tattoos has gone backward for the past twenty years. Lets face it though, they were always a bunch of crap artistically (would you ever want a tattoo as desktop wallpaper?), but at least in the 90\u2019s some effort was made to do a decent job – I used to work a few doors along from Roger\u2019s Tatooart, one of New Zealand\u2019s top tattoo shops, so I saw skilled tattoo\u2019s everyday, and they were a hell of a lot better than the slop most people are getting today.<\/p>\n

Yesterday I was buying some food at our local organic shop – it\u2019s the middle of Summer here and everyone is wearing as little as possible, when next thing I knew I nearly dropped my cans of coconut water from the shock of seeing a bloody awful tattoo of a skull on the shoulder of a woman.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

From that point on I realised that every person in the shop had at least one tattoo (no, most tattoo ink is neither organic nor vegan) but I kept seeing feminists with bad haircuts all inked up with tattoos that even prisoners would once have considered a bit rough. The guy who sits on the footpath outside everyday asking for small change actually has far better tatts than many of the feminists in the organic shop.<\/p>\n

A few extra fun tatt facts<\/h2>\n

In the UK there has been a more than 400 percent increase in tattoo removal in the past 10 years, often inspired by celebrities who ironically inspired the tattoo trend in the first place.<\/p>\n

An employer survey cited over 70 percent of business owners registered an unfavourable view of job applicants with tattoos.<\/p>\n

A laser tattoo removal typically costs around 10 times the amount of getting one.<\/p>\n

Tattoo removal is the largest growth sector in cosmetic procedures worldwide<\/p>\n

Tattoo inks often include phthalates (hormone disrupters) and dibutyl phthalate and benzoprene – well-documented skin carcinogens.<\/p>\n

Most of my friends followed the herd when we were in our 20’s. Now they’re stuck with shitty stickers all over their skin.<\/p>\n

I remember one friend. It was 1999. He came home to our pad with this awesome new bandage. We all knew what it meant, and he was proud of it.<\/p>\n

The “artist” told him to leave the bandage on for a few hours, so he did, while we all drank beer and waited for the big unveiling.<\/p>\n

Then, it was finally time to see it.<\/p>\n

I’ve never gotten the appeal of tattoos, either. I’ve worn some temporary ones for costumes or fun, but they wash right off. I’ve drawn some on with eyeliner for special occasions, too, but again, they wash off. Why would I want something permanent I might not like later?<\/p>\n

My eldest step-son is becoming a tattoo addict, especially since his divorce last year. He had just a few small ones before that, but now he’s spent tons of money and entire days getting huge, borderline bizarre tattoos. He just got a giant one of Bill Nye on his leg. I used to consider Tattoos as a kid, before every one was getting em! When it became a hype, I was much more interested in not getting them!<\/p>\n

As life progressed, and I started getting a body full of scars, I realised that back in the day, we were probably all full of scars! Telling our tale on our skin… Also tattoos were tribal and part of a warrior code back when. I think the obsession, is that people want their skin to stand for something… But like most things in life today, people want it instantly and without merit… That’s why now it’s usually less than a fashion statement…<\/p>\n

The Great Omi or the Zebra Man<\/h2>\n

The most famous tattooed man of this period was Horace Ridler. In 1927, he asked London’s leading tattoo artist, George Burchett, to tattoo him all over, including his face with inch-wide zebra stripes.<\/p>\n

To become a freak in order to earn a livelihood was a gamble which might not have come off. Ridler also had his teeth filed down to sharp points. He had his nose pierced so he could insert an ivory tusk and his ear lobes were pierced and stretched. He called himself the Great Omi and was one of the most successful freaks in the history of the circus. He succeeded because he was unique but during the latter part of his career there were fewer and fewer tattooed people seen in circuses. The popularity of the freak show was waning and tattooed people were no longer novelties. After WWII, freak shows came under attack and only a few of the larger circuses still included them.<\/p>\n

Interesting post. I could never comprehend this fashion \/ obsession with plastering one’s body with mundane designs, often drawn in the dullest, most horrible ink one can imagine.<\/p>\n

I have nothing against tattoos, and every now and then I see someone with a beautiful tattoo that is interesting and which enhances their appearance. In such cases, I will come right out and complement them, if the opportunity arises.<\/p>\n

But for most people and their ugly, verging-on-hideous tattoos, I wouldn’t want to tell them how pathetic they look. Maybe they already realize it. Maybe not.<\/p>\n

I have 2 friends who had their entire arms tattooed, years ago. The one eventually had his tattoos burned off … meaning that he always had to wear long-sleeve shirts to hide the full-arm scars.<\/p>\n

The other always wore long-sleeve shirts, just to hide his tattoos. The first time I saw them was when I was invited to a little party at their home.<\/p>\n

And yet, kids these days continue to get ugly tattoos. Glad I aint a kid.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
