The Blue Ice™ Fermented Cod Liver Oil takes us back in time, to when cod liver oil was truly a sacred food. The fish are wild caught in the Arctic region. Blue Ice™ Fermented Cod Liver Oil is lacto-fermented and extracted without heat. The oil is batch processed and independently tested to international purity standards.

Fermented Cod Liver Oil (Gummy Fish)

Fermented Cod Liver Oil in a gluten free, easy to take gummy treat, with Cinnamon Oil used for flavoring. These are ideal if your child won't take any of the other flavours. They do have a little organic sugar and rice syrup in them though, so may not be suitable for children on special diets.

Fermented Cod Liver Oil (liquid, emulsified or gel)

A range of non-capsulated oils are now available for people who can't take capsules, want a more cost effective option, or who feel they get more benefit from a liquid.

2ml liquid gives approximately:

• Vitamin A (approx 75%DV)
• Vitamin D (approx 190%DV)

Most modern cod liver oils have been deodorised, so have a comparatively mild flavour. Green Pastures™ Fermented CLO is the real thing, and has a stronger taste. (The good news is you do get used to it.) Some people find that the lactic acid content makes the back of the throat tingle. It is helpful to have a mouthful of something fatty afterwards, like butter oil, butter, yoghurt or Reilly’s nut butter, to ease the tingle.

We have tested some ways of taking the oils, and will include a range of "recipes" with your first order.

Plain: Flavour & Anti-oxidant free. The most versatile flavour. Ideal for theperson with food sensitivities who requires a completely additive free product.

Ingredients: Fermented cod liver oil

Salty Cod: We know it doesn't sound very desirable, but the salt somehow makes the flavour more mellow without adding a different flavour. Shake the bottle before use every time though, or it gets very salty towards the bottom. This is our favourite.

Ingredients: Fermented cod liver oil, sea salt from Utah, antioxidant (cranberry seed oil)

Mediterranean: Herby flavour. This was the pick of our local naturopath, for clients who need the extra therapeutic properties of garlic and basil.

Ingredients: Fermented cod liver oil, garlic, pepper and basil oils, sea salt from Utah, antioxidant (cranberry seed oil)

Oslo Orange (emulsified): This has a mild orange flavour and slides down quite easily. The emulsifier eases the throat tingle, but it's derived from egg, so may not suit everybody.

Ingredients: Fermented cod liver oil, orange and lemon oils, antioxidant (cranberry seed oil), fermented hyaluronic acid to emulsify (from egg whites, soy free)

Cinnamon Tingle (emulsified): We haven't tried this one yet. By special order only.

Fruit Attack gel: This includes silica. It's quite a thick gel even at room temperature. Slides down quite easily.

Ingredients: Fermented cod liver oil, natural grape flavor, organic orange oil and organic lemon oil, antioxidant (cranberry seed oil), silica.

Chocolate cream (gel): This includes silica. It's quite runny when you open the bottle, but if you keep it in the fridge, it sets to a nice spoonable consistency. By special order only.

Ingredients: Fermented cod liver oil, organic cocoa powder, organic vanilla flavour, organic stevia leaf, antioxidant (cranberry seed oil), silica (to slightly gel)

Arctic Mint gel: This includes silica. It's quite runny when you open the bottle, but if you keep it in the fridge, it sets to a nice spoonable consistency. We have some samples, but a full bottle is by special order only.
