Many of us are working from home, so having no trouble filling our days. Many have children at home who need to be taken care of, entertained, nurtured and kept out of trouble. I don’t imagine any of them are bored. Frustrated, quite likely. But not bored. If you need resources, check out this page. Some are taking the opportunity to catch up, clean old forgotten places, clear out junk, garden or otherwise improve their environment. (Though as a side note, some of these activities are putting strain on waste disposal services and op shops, so please be considerate).
If you’re just feeling bored, check out my pages on home exercise, activities for your mind and finding something enjoyable to do. My philosophy is that one of our ultimate purposes is to be loving and joyful and to spread that to those around us. So if your days are filled with happiness, regardless of how that is achieved – there’s a fabulous purpose right there.
But others may be searching for more of a reason for all this. For a sense of purpose. How can I give back? How can I grow as a human being? I don’t have the answers for that. But anything I’ve spotted that may answer the question for you, I’ve gathered it up and put it here.
First, this picture that came from the FB page of Wellington natural therapist Jorg Otto.
I also like this quote from Arundati Roy:
A poem from Kitty O’Meara:
IN THE TIME OF PANDEMIC
And the people stayed home. And they read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And they listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.
And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live, and they healed the earth fully, as they had been healed.
