As part of my checking out other platforms secret squirrel operation, I tried out Parler, the latest site that people who get banned from Facebook keep going on about.

There is a theory that Parler was set up by two heavily funded deep state approved programmers for the purpose of rounding up all the dissenters into a controlled opposition echo chamber.

The first thing that struck me when I arrived on the site with my fresh virgin account and no friends, is that it is all about American politics. There is no way to see a new or trending feed, and everything is geared to getting people to follow “right wing” shills like Tucker Carlson.

And the second thing is that the whole platform is obsessed with #tags. Yes, TAGS. Tags can kill a site even faster than wall to wall Korean shitposts, (AKA Steemit) and everything on Parler is about tags. They don’t even write posts, they just share huge lists of tags with no content.

Just to make sure nobody ever writes any real blog posts, as well as a 1000 word limit, there is NO EDITING! In 20 years of blogging it’s safe to say I have never done a post that I haven’t wanted to edit as soon as I posted it. (Yes, including this one)

“Parler” is French for “Speak”, but the site really should have been named “Marque” for “Tag” or “Eunuque” for NO BALLS…

Yes, I do think Parler has been set up specifically to round up all the American “conservatives” in one safe space. I have an account set up there now but probably won’t be using it much.
